Delaware Park picks and analysis: June 27, 2025
Picks and analysis for this afternoon’s card from Delaware Park:
- RACES ON CARD: 8
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:35 p.m.
RACE 1
| 6. One Improbable | Connex have suddenly lost patience with this guy; only prior dirt try was credible versus much better |
| 4. Global Phenom | Improved outing in latest |
| 3. Skylar’s Brother | Won but DQed three back but couldn’t seal the deal in latest on drop down to this level |
RACE 2
| 5. Simmering | Outmatched in latest but ran well in prior try at this level; tactical speed should help in a race without a ton of early lick |
| 1. I’m Gittin There | Likely to be ridden to make the front here |
| 2. Viking Queen | Has run pretty well since the claim, and class relief a plus; winner on best |
RACE 3
| 9. Lucky Prince | 2024 turf tries likely good enough here; makes second start of the cycle |
| 6. Great Composer | Middle move before tiring in off-the-turf debut; full sib is a turf winner |
| 7. Stow On the Wold | Had a terrible Tampa meet but fall form would suffice |

RACE 4
| 7. Spanish Delight | Caught in a taxing speed duel with even-money favorite in latest that ruined both their chances, but that rival came back to win next; return to best would do it |
| 6. Kingdom Queen | Recent Sullivan claimback has better to run back to |
| 8. Chipotle Pepper | Doesn’t seem to have taken to PRX surface, but return to OP form for leading trainer would work here |
RACE 5
| 4. Bound by Destiny | Season bow is also first in red-hot Carrasco barn; gets enormous class relief from latest turf try when third in Churchill maiden event |
| 7. Committed Games | Middling try in latest versus better darkenend with some trip trouble; should benefit from easier spot |
| 9. Souper Crunchy | Solid try in latest versus better but note rider Gomez jumps to #7 |
RACING NOTES
- Check out the trainer and jockey stats through June 21 here.
- American Unity dominated Thursday’s featured starter/optional claimer, winning by three lengths and paying $5.40 as the 8-5 favorite. The seven-year-old Munnings gelding was ridden by leading rider Jaime Rodriguez for leading trainer Jamie Ness…
RACE 6
| 4. Straight to Water | Has caught some rough customers in recent outings in stakes-placed New King and million-dollar Verifire; this group’s no picnic either, but there doesn’t seem to be one of those in here; should be running late |
| 2. Friday Surprise | Oddly handled colt has flashed talent and might be speed of the speed |
| 5. Mississippi Man | Switches barns, has a turf work, in for the tag: there’s a lot going on here, though this guy’s best might be enough |
RACE 7
| 4. Yo Adrian | Flying too late in debut, well clear of rest in follow-up; third time the charm? |
| 8. Veola | Didn’t miss second by much in first turf try when well behind promising Roja |
| 6. Izzy Sweet Girl | Kept better company at the Fair Grounds, including Out too Late, now a two-time allowance winner |
RACE 8
| 4. Tricky River | Suspect she didn’t beat much in graduation score, but she did it like a good thing, throwing down a sharp opener and drawing off; second off the bench |
| 6. Nanisca | Nothing wrong with debut victory |
| 5. On a Proud Note | Decent effort in latest and the two immediately behind her both won their follow-ups |
