The Fasig-Tipton Midlantic December Mixed Sale added several supplemental entries to their catalog, Laurel Park is hosting a Guys’ Day Out at the track, and future wagering for the 2020 Kentucky Derby begins this Thursday.
Here is the 411 on what racing fans in the Mid-Atlantic region have been talking about on social media this week:
Fasig-Tipton Mixed Sale bulks up
The upcoming Fasig-Tipton Midlantic December Mixed and Horses of Racing Age Sale has added 132 supplemental horses of racing age and three additional weanlings to the catalog. The supplemented horses of racing age have been placed as hips 235-366 in a separate catalog. The addendum entries of the three additional weanlings have been marked as hips 231-233. These weanlings will be offered for auction at the end of the main catalog, right before the horses of racing age take the stage.
The Midlantic December Mixed and Horses of Racing Age Sale will take place at 10 a.m. on December 10, at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Maryland. The new entries for the sale can be viewed online through Fasig-Tipton’s website, and print copies will be available to the public on the sales grounds at the time of the sale.
Derby dreaming already?
Racing fans and gamblers alike have something to be thankful for this Thursday, as pool 1 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager will be available for betting starting Thanksgiving Day. The betting pool will offer $2 Win and Exacta wagering and will take place at the same time as the Kentucky Derby Sire Future Wager for those interested in trying their hand at both.
Bets can be placed on possible contenders for the 2020 Kentucky Derby both online and at satellite wagering centers. The morning line favorite for the future wagers is the field of “All Other 3-Year-Old Males,” meaning that the majority of the betting public is predicted to place their wagering faith on the chance that the name of the likely winner of the Kentucky Derby is not yet on the list of potential contenders to choose from.
The morning line odds for “All Other 3-Year-Old Males” is 6-5. Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) winner Storm the Court, and Nashua Stakes winner (G3) Independence Hall are co-second choices at odds of 12-1.
Wagering for pool 1 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager will conclude on December 1 at 6 p.m. EST.
