Parx picks and horses to watch: Jan. 12

We’ve got Parx Racing picks today as the track presents another midweek card!

Maryland Jockey Club chief Mike Rogers today reported “great progress” on fixing the Laurel Park track, with racing Jan. 16 a possibility.

Laurel Park will not race Friday or Saturday, pushing back the resumption of racing until Jan. 16 at the earliest, the track told horsemen today.

With Laurel Park closed because of track issues for the third time this year, the MJC’s Mike Rogers met with restive Maryland horsemen Jan. 8.

A day later than planned, Charles Town will kick off its 2022 season with a nine-race card featuring four allowance contests.
