Flightline romps in Breeders’ Cup Classic

Your eyes aren’t fooling you: Flightline is that good, and he dominated Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup Classic by eight lengths.

Caravel, a Pennsylvania-bred mare, shocked the boys in winning the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint Saturday at 42-1 odds.

It’s closing weekend at Delaware Park, and the Friday and Saturday cards are topped by a pair of allowance races for juveniles.

In its first two decades, the Breeders’ Cup took the best of racing to people all over the country. It ought to return to traveling.
